“I may just be the owner of a small bookstore in the middle of the country trying to argue against the world’s richest man …”

Danny Caine continues, “but that doesn’t mean I’m going to quietly watch the world’s richest man relentlessly collect money, influence, and power.”  In 128 pages, he argues for “resisting” Amazon.  Much of what he says about fighting for local economies, data privacy, fair labor, independent bookstores, and “a people-powered future” might be familiar. It seems that everyone from the Wall Street Journal to In These Times has pointed out that Jeff Bezos is doing “what robber barons have always done: dodge taxes, swindle suppliers and avoid unions.” Can a David to really take down a Goliath? I hope he does.
