“The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena…who best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at worst, if fails, at least fails while daring greatly…”

After reading two biographies of Theodore Roosevelt this summer, I was interested in the author of a book that pays homage to him by drawing on his famous 1910 speech for its title and opening chapter.  I’ve come to the conclusion that if he were alive today, Teddy Roosevelt and Brene´ Brown would be great friends. Both are known for a “lock and load” approach to risk-taking, skillful story-telling, and interesting ideas. Brown is famous for her 2010 TED Talk (viewed by 50 million) and her podcast series, which averages more than a million downloads per episode. This book is provocative.
